Galerie Komische Meister

The City of Fine Arts has also been the city of cartoon since 2015. In the Komische Meister Gallery, which opened next to the Dresden Frauenkirche in 2015, changing cartoon shows can be seen all year round.

The two founders of the funny museum, Mario Süßenguth and Dr. Peter Ufer want to close the gap between the famous galleries Old and New Masters, which have made Dresden known as a collection of unique paintings over the centuries.

The best draughtsmen in German-speaking countries can be experienced in the Komische Meister gallery, including Rudi Hurzlmeier, BeCK, Mario Lars, Miriam Wurster and Til Mette. There is a postcard gallery and, as the centerpiece, the large exhibition space in which the curators devote themselves to certain topics or individual artists - each with around one hundred large-format works.
