Galerie Kai Dikhas
The gallery Kai Dikhas, that opened in 2011 at Aufbau Haus, continuously shows rotating exhibitions by internationally famous contemporary Sinti and Romani artists from all over Europe. The gallery is a platform for the self confident and equal dialogue between the minority and mainstream society. The exhibitions are curated by Moritz Pankok and by guest curators that are part of the minority.
Gallery Kai Dikhas (re)presents the most important internationally working artists of the group: Ceija Stojka, Delaine and Damian Le Bas, Imrich Tomáš, Alfred Ullrich, Lita Cabellut, Manolo Gómez Romero, Daniel Baker, Valérie Leray and many more.
They use all common art forms auch as performances, installations, videos, photos, graphics, drawings, sculptures, big format pictures and deal in very different ways, often ironically, with the discriminations and stereotypes that they experience.
The concept is completed by the offer of CDs in cooperation with the Berlin label Asphalt Tango Records and books about topics connected to the minority.
