This year’s Czech Touches of Music International Music Festival will conclude, as in every year, on 6 January at the Smetana Hall in the Municipal House with a closing concert entitled Gala Opera Romance – Dénes Várjon & Chopin. The leading soloists of our first opera stage, Aleš Briscein and Barbora Polášková, a Thalia Prize nominee, will introduce famous opera arias and duets. Dénes Várjon, a Hungarian pianist, will play Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor for piano and orchestra, Op. 21 by Fryderyk Chopin. The Chamber Orchestra of the National Theatre in Prague, conducted by Jan Kučera, will also present the overtures to Mozart’s operas The Marriage of Figaro and The Abduction from the Seraglio.
