František Kop Quartet
The František Kop Quartet was formed at the beginning of 1995 on the occasion of the Prague Spring festival. The current line-up consists of the leading saxophonist František Kop (1959), pianist Petr Malásek (1964), bassist Martin Lehký (1973) and drummer Pavel Zbořil (1962). In the selection of repertoire, emphasis is placed on Kop's own compositions (Kop, Malásek), which tends to make the individual compositions more sophisticated. The stylistic range of the original compositions is quite wide, as they are inspired by various musical influences (blues, funk, Latin, free).
