Franck Chastrusse

Franck Chastrusse Colombier has an advanced degree in Orchestral Conducting from the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris and from the Accademia Chigiana (Siena). He trained with Georges Prêtre and Maurizio Arena. He made his debut in Italy at 22 years of age by conducting Rigoletto. This was met with great success, leading to further invitations for productions of Così fan tutte, La Traviata, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Un Ballo in Maschera, Il Trovatore. He then became Assistant Conductor of the Massy Opera as well as Alain Guingal’s assistant (Opera of Avignon and the National Orchestra of Ile de France). In the symphonic repertoire, the Orchestral Ensemble of Paris and the Massy Orchestra have been under his baton, among others, as have musicians from the Irish National Orchestra in Dublin’s National Concert Hall as well as in Germany and the United States. At 28, Franck Chastrusse Colombier was chosen as musical director by the orchestra of the Symphonic Association of Paris, becoming the youngest conductor in the history of the Association, which was founded in 1923. Franck Chastrusse Colombier is a laureate of the European Union Young Conductors Competition and won the first prize at the Luigi Mancinelli Opera Conductors’ Competition (2014).
