"Since I was born, I have felt like a prison in the world. Everyone thinks I am expendable. And yet I have something to do. I feel that I am meant to do something that no one else can do. But what? I can't guess". - That's how Vincent van Gogh wrote about himself, trying to find his way in life. He changed places of residence, jobs, surroundings, but nowhere did he find understanding and peace. Painting gave only temporary respite. His life and work are so closely connected that it is actually difficult to distinguish one from the other. Every personal event, almost every thought was transformed by him into painting. Lonely, misunderstood, quarreled with family and friends, he died at the age of only 37. _How did this poor, unfortunate man become one of the greatest and most recognized painters in history?
