Fit for a King
Fit for a King is an American metalcore band formed in 2007 in the city of Tyler, Texas. The band initially released several independent recordings before signing a contract with Solid State Records in 2012. In 2013, they released their debut studio album Creation/Destruction. This was followed by the albums Slave to Nothing (2014), Deathgrip (2016), Dark Skies (2018), and The Path (2020). In 2022, the band released the album The Hell We Create.
The band’s music is characterized by a combination of aggressive guitar riffs, melodic passages, and alternating clean vocals with growled vocals. Fit for a King operates mainly within the metalcore genre and was previously associated with the Christian music scene, although in later years the members stated that they were focusing on a broader audience. The band’s lineup has changed several times over the years; vocalist Ryan Kirby has remained a long-standing member, while drummer Jared Easterling left the band in 2021.
In 2024 and 2025, the band released several new singles, including Keeping Secrets (2024), Technium featuring guest vocalist Landon Tewers from The Plot in You (2024), No Tomorrow (2025), and Lonely God (2025). In August 2025, they announced the release of their eighth studio album titled Lonely God.
