Accompanied by the clarinet playing melodies drawn from various religious traditions, Paweł Szamburski takes the listeners on a journey through the centuries and the Mediterranean lands.
Paweł Szamburski’s well-received solo album Ceratitis Capitata draws on the traditions of the monotheistic religions of the Mediterranean basin. The spiritual dimension of this minimalist, intimate album is present not only in the clarinetist’s themes, but also in his personal improvisations, which escape analysis. During the concert, works rooted in Gregorian chant or Sufi tradition, among others, are accompanied by Szamburski’s stories, which not only provide a musical context but also allow the listener to embark on a journey across countries and centuries.
