Farm in the Cave

Farm in the Cave is an international physical theatre ensemble based in Prague, Czech Republic. In its beginnings, the company was a pioneer of physical theatre in the Czech Republic and since then it has represented the country at many prestigious festivals across 3 continents and in over 60 cities and it has received numerous Czech and international awards, including the European Prize for New Theatrical Realities for Viliam Dočolomanský, the Total Theatre Award, The Grand Prix Golden Laurel Wreath Award, A Fringe First Award and more.

Their original work is known for its profound translation of urgent topics into powerful and energetic physicality. The ensemble's performances arise from long-term research and are characterized by high-energy performers and multi-layered stage compositions developed through an interdisciplinary approach. Their choreographies embody important themes, creating forceful images and a strong emotional connection with the audience.

Since 2018, Farm in the Cave has been in permanent residence at the DOX Center for Contemporary Art, with which they share the courage to express their views on burning topics through art and to cross established borders of the cultural world. They do not hesitate to break down the usual ways of thinking and open up new insights into what is happening in our society, as well as our understanding of individual art forms.
