In traditional moral systems, death is deemed the great leveller. However, Oreet Ashery (UK) thinks otherwise. Since 2016, drawing on her trademark sensitivity for questions pertaining to gender, feminism and the politics of migration, and to pop-culture, aesthetics and absurdity, she has been addressing the politics of dying and death in today’s digital culture and society, a society on the brink of a multi-crisis. She believes that the way we die is an amplified reflection of the way we live and our social status.
