Marcin Płonka: Topiel

Are these only Slavic beliefs powered by the fascination of wilderness and the beauty of unpredictable nature? Is it also a natural rhythm of life regulated by it? The word Topiel has no literal synonym in any other language. Is photography then able to convey to us feelings coded somewhere deep under the skin? Marcin Płonka in his photographs tries to take the viewers to the world of smells, hidden meanings, history, which somehow subconsciously captured the creative eye of the author. We have to learn to read between the lines. Then it may turn out that at the end it is not just loneliness that waits.
