Vincent van Gogh's Sunflowers is one of the most iconic paintings in the history of art. The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam has now turned its attention to these famous works in a solo exhibition to which the Exhibition on Screen team has been granted exclusive access. The film seeks to answer a number of questions related to these paintings. Why did Van Gogh choose sunflowers? What message does this series of paintings convey? What makes each painting different? What have the scientists who have studied these works in detail discovered? In addition to Amsterdam, the film visits London, Philadelphia, Tokyo and Munich to unravel the mystery of Vincent van Gogh's five famous sunflower paintings and create a unique virtual exhibition for cinema screens. The Exhibition on Screen series brings world-class artists to the big screen through exclusive access to museums and galleries around the world. Over the past 9 seasons, the series has offered a total of 30 internationally acclaimed films.
