The screening is part of Ekofilm 2019 event, an international film festival about the environment.
Moravian Karst is alive! Thanks to its intensive protection, we managed to preserve many unique places. Natural beauty can be admired both on the surface and underground in the accessible parts of the protected landscape area. This unique heritage is now threatened by droughts, which is a result of climate change. Environmentally unfriendly tourism and vandalism cause permanent damage and fixing this damage often takes several decades. Anthropogenic activity may also be a risk in the river basin which is 3.5 times larger than the protected area. Agricultural and industrial activity, including settlement structures, degrade surface waters, increase soil erosion and heat pollution. Therefore, there are many surprises in the Moravian Karst that are not only beautiful but also warning. Education towards a positive attitude to our common heritage is realized through many institutions, including our knowledge, to which, hopefully, this short documentary will also contribute.
