Dyskusyjny Klub FIlmowy Politechnika
The 'Politechnika' cineclub has been active at Wrocław University of Technology for more than 50 years. Its focus is on ambitious cinema from the whole range of available forms of genre, independent or experimental cinema. It also supports amateur filmmakers. The statutory activities of the cineclub comprise regular Thursday meetings in the lecture–screening–discussion formula. Some screenings are complemented by a visit from a special guest or the publication of a thematic guide. There are also several special screenings each month on Wednesdays and Tuesdays.
The club's activities go far beyond simple film meetings. The members have set themselves the task of animating culture also on other levels, hence their cooperation with numerous art institutions, including the Jerzy Grotowski Institute in Wrocław, the Wrocław Opera, the Wrocław Philharmonic, as well as with many non-governmental organisations. The result is a series of music and film events, as well as joint outings of the club's audiences to plays, concerts and shows,
