Two unlikely friends share their daily life experiences with each other through letters until a revolution shakes their country and flips their fates, making the formerly repressed worker Zacharovich an influential officer of the Secret Police, and leaving Valdshtein, a lover of music and opposer to the Revolution, to face the consequences. Having it just been the 50th anniversary of the 1968 invasion of the Soviet Union, authors believe it is important to continue the dialogue with an international audience regarding totalitarian regimes and what individuals face when living under them, opening up conversations about a person’s free will and the pressure of falling into line. People from all around the world have formed connections with the characters, story and music from this unique performance. The play is performed in the style of Silent Storytelling. All characters are performed by one actor accompanied by live musicians.
