Dropout Kings is an American rap metal and nu metal band from Phoenix, Arizona. The band was formed in 2016 under the name Phoenix Down and later adopted its current name. Their music combines elements of nu metal, rap, trap, hip hop, and metalcore, with a signature style that alternates between rap verses, aggressive vocals, and modern electronic production. The band is led by vocalists Adam Ramey and Eddie Wellz, who are responsible for most of its original material.
They first gained wider attention with the release of the album AudioDope (2018), followed by GlitchGang (2021). The band’s well-known songs include Virus, NVM, Scratch & Claw, Bad Day, Lights Out, and Hey Uh.
Their latest work is the album Riot Music, released in 2023, which features tracks such as Till We Drop, Watch Me, and Wanted. In May 2025, frontman Adam Ramey passed away, marking a major turning point in the band’s future.
