Drive My Car

Drive My Car, based on a short story from the collection Men Without Women, is an intimate story about the complex love relationship between a prominent actor and director and a woman who keeps many secrets from him. Hamaguchi bases his film on precise dialogues and brilliantly drawn characters. It is a story about unconditional acceptance of a loved one and of oneself and one's imperfections, at the same time a beautiful and moving ode to life.
