About Dorota Miśkiewicz
Dorota Miśkiewicz, a graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw in the violin class, very quickly understood that the only instrument she needed was her own vocal cords. The daughter of the famous jazz saxophonist, Henryk Miśkiewicz, began her career in Włodzimierz Nahorny’s band, with whom she recorded a series of albums dedicated to Polish composers: Karol Szymanowski, Fryderyk Chopin, Mieczysław Karłowicz. Their cooperation has continued since 1995. At the same time, the artist is nostalgic, old-fashioned and eternally searching, sensitive to ever new sounds or experiments. Her hallmarks are moody, lyrical compositions balancing on the border of difficult to classify musical genres. Elegant and modest, yet charismatic on stage, she quickly establishes contact with the audience.
