Dominika Olszowy: Meringue Soup

The starting point of Dominika Olszowy’s exhibition is a need for deepening the creative process, and it requires appropriate time. The eponymous “meringue soup” is a paraphrase of an artwork as a result of a number of manual and intellectual activities performed depending on the mood or in accordance with the character.

The exhibition displays a spiritual ambience characteristic of Olszowy’s works. Arranging the BWA Studio space so that is oscillates between dream and reality, the artist transfers metaphysics to creative activity, celebrating the moment of creating art. The author gives in to the instinctive creative process, engaging in dialogue with the specific, concrete space of the gallery. In the context of the character of BWA Studio, a place of artistic residencies, work and meetings of creative personalities, Olszowy’s exhibition concept takes on an added significance”. The exhibition is therefore of processual nature. The works you will see – objects, videos, site-specific installations – will be emerging and evolving also within the gallery space itself. The artist’s quest, a process of gradual addition of particular ingredients, leads to the emergence of the eponymous Meringue Soup, filled with emotions and spiritual aura.
