Dom umenia Piešťany
Dom umenia (House of Art) is a modern architectural unique of the architect Ferdinand Milučky, standing on the bank of one of the most important rivers in Slovakia - the Váh, in the middle of a large park. It was built in 1980 as a detached workplace of the Slovak Philharmonic.
Its activities contribute to the significant enrichment of the cultural and social life of visitors and inhabitants of the surrounding area and the entire large region. Dramaturgy includes activities of municipal, regional, national and international importance. It is a multi-purpose facility (theatre performances, concerts, performances for children and young people, music and entertainment programmes, folklore performances, film events, documentary and art exhibitions are held in the Great Hall, in the Exhibition Hall and in the Gallery).
The House of Arts is one of the main organisers of international festivals. In addition, it is a proven ideal venue for organizing working camps of artistic bodies, master classes for a large number of participants and various congresses and symposia.
