DJ Emerson
Simon Emerson Kidder was born in Bavaria and has become an integral part of the Berlin's scene after his move to the German capital in 1999. At the beginning he collected experiences DJing. Since 2001, DJ Emerson has also been the label boss of Kiddaz FM, presenting hard techno sounds that have made themselves a name beyond Berlin's borders.
Kidder's DJ career has not always been his clear aim: at the age of fourteen, he rather played bass in a punk band and considered Nirvana, the Rolling Stones and AC/DC his idols. In 1996 he discovered the electronic universe when he visited a club and after a dance marathon sold his bass and replaced it with two turntables.
Soon, his way led Kidder to Munich's Ultraschall, where he left an impression with Holgi Star with his mix of house, breakbeats and techno. In 1999, Star brought him to Berlin, where he quickly established himself with his funky techno sets. In 2001, Emerson founded his own label, Kiddaz FM, which is known for hard techno cuts. Not only Holgi Star has released through the imprint, but also colleagues such as Marco Remus or Eric Sneo.
