Dispelled Reality + Artyfiction + White Matter
Prog-rock feast at Liverpool club with three bands from three different Polish cities.
Warsaw band Dispelled Reality, comprising six musicians hailing from the Lublin and Mazovia regions of Poland, formed in 2016. In their music, they combine the expansive musical vocabulary of prog rock with catchy melodies and Polish language lyrics; they describe their music as 'prog for the people'. The band has shared the stage with Polish mainstream rock stalwarts Łąki Łan, Acid Drinkers, Kult, and Illusion, and has presented their work to a wider audience at events such as Chmielaki Krasnostawskie and Juwenalia Politechniki Warszawskiej.
They are joined by Wrocław's own Artyfiction, a prog-metal band formed in 2018. The band's style mixes sublime melodies with furious riffs to create a rich palette of musical colours. In 2018 the band debuted with the album Preliminaries, followed by the album Firing Lines in 2019. More recently, the band has transformed itself by introducing vocals and modernising sounds and compositions.
Closing the line-up out are White Matter. The band's history dates back to 2014, when the first original compositions began to be written under the name The Criminal Liquid. In January 2015, the band changed its name to White Matter. The music oscillates around old-school rock tainted with the essence of the genre's classics and creates a distinctive Pink Floyd atmosphere combined with the fury of Led Zeppelin. The work of each of the aforementioned bands has influenced and continues to influence the work of WM. As each of the members of White Matter is completely different from one another, the final effect of each member's ideas produces quite an interesting result. The shows in Krakow's clubs are magical, and the stage itself is energetic and crowded underneath. In 2020, they released their debut EP Home, which could be heard on Radio Nowy Świat, Rockserwis.fm or Radio 357.
