Der Anker
Der Anker (anchor) is a socio-cultural center that offers numerous opportunities and events.
At the end of the 19th century it became known as an inn and as a ball and concert hall under the name Goldener Anker. In the 1950s, the facility passed to the city and began operating as a youth clubhouse. In 1991 the association Stadtteilzentrum ANKER e.V. was founded. Since then they have been organizing concerts and festivals, courses and workshops, action days, communicative meetings for social encounters, current information events, promotional cooperation, eventful holiday programs and much more.
The building is divided into two complexes. The cultural center is divided into a large hall for up to 800 people with adjoining backstage area and gallery, a small hall, pub with billiard room and a small stage. Both centers are connected by a quiet courtyard. All entrances on the ground floor are wheelchair accessible.
