Das frivole Burgfräulein is the self-titled "best beach punk band of the world" from Bonn, Germany and has been founded it 1991. The band calls their won music beach punk because they want to avoid being labeled.
The music as well as the topics of the lyrics have changed during the years of band history. The first records mainly consisted of songs propagating an easy life and celebration with easily structured melodies. Since the release of the EP Wie geht es Dir? Mir geht es gut. the lyrics have gotten more complex. The band strengthened their political profile and set clear statements against racism. Furthermore, the band became musically more various. In the beginning playing exclusively punk, they moved on to something in between of punk rock and alternative. In the past, their songs reminded of the German band Die Ärzte, while today the songs are more powerful, darker and more serious.
Das frivole Burgfräulein is a complete do-it-yourself band: they produce everything by themselves, beginning from recordings, artworks and music videos to sales. Furthermore, they foudned the label Schulanfang'77 where are their albums are released.
