About Daniele Sorrentino
Born in Naples he grew up in a very musical family, his father pianist and grandfather mandolinist, started studying violin from 4 to 19, when he definitely switched to acoustic and electric bass along with the piano. He attended and won many music competitions as bass player and band leader and composer, as the renown italian “Tuscia in Jazz competition” where a prestigious jury of big names of jazz as Bobby Durham, Benny Golson, Buster Williams, Jimmy Coob, Joe Di Francesco selected him as best acoustic bass player and best group.
He collaborates with great artists of jazz and pop as Fabrizio Bosso, Alex Britti , Max Gazze', Niky Nicolai, Gegè Telesforo, Enrico Ruggeri, Jerry Bergonzi, Sylvan Luc, Paco Sery, Tullio De Piscopo, Enrico Rava, Paco Sery, Rosario Giuliani, Roberto Gatto, Dado Moroni , Antonio Faraò , Luciano Biondini, Andrea Pozza, Maurizio Giammarco, Ray Mantilla, Rita Marcotulli, Pierre Francois Dufour, Adrienne West, Daniele Scannapieco, Nicola Angelucci , Max Ionata, Giovanni Amato, Alfonso Deidda, Eddy Palermo, Sandro Deidda, Alberto D’Anna, Tony Esposito, Julian Oliver Mazzariello, recording and touring all over the world. From 2011 he’s member of the Stefano Di Battista Quartet.
In 2010 he composed the soundtrack for the horror movie House Hunting of the american director Angela Kennedy, getting a excellent result at the Washington Film festival.
