Founded in 2011, the Berlin-based institution Creamcake is an open and queer platform dedicated to exploring the impact of the internet on music at the intersection of music, art and technology. In their work, Creamcake questions patterns of thought and behavior, creates a new space for action and reflection, and strives for digital change with a fundamental openness and flexibility.
Founded by Anja Weigl and Daniela Seitz, the label and promoter duo has collaborated with a variety of artists who are redefining contemporary electronic music, including Arca, Chino Amobi, Elysia Cramption and Eclair Fifi. In addition to parties in clubs, Creamcake also provides a venue for artists to share ideas and collaborate, from workshops to talks and exhibitions. In 2015, Creamcake hosted the first 3hd Festival, which has since become a staple of the Berlin art world. From the beginning, 3hd Festival and Creamcake have been platforms where women and queer artists are actively encouraged to participate and all genders can collaborate on an equal basis.
