The Conference on Animal Rights in Europe (CARE) is an international conference organised since 2016 by Otwarte Klatki and its partner organisations. It is aimed at connecting and inspiring animal advocates from all across Europe, most notably Eastern Europe, where the animal welfare movement has a shorter track record and the topic is still considered neglected. Its main purpose is to provide tools and knowledge to groups working in these environments that will allow them to achieve the biggest impact possible.
The conference has historically been a platform for establishing and fostering connections with like-minded advocates, a place to exchange knowledge and experience, learn about successful strategies and approaches as well as push forward discussions within the movement. Due to the COVID19 pandemic, the travel restrictions and responsibilities it is still hard to organise events in a way that will guarantee the safety of all participants.
The movement lives from the conversation and building relationships with other like-minded people, learning about their perspectives and stories. That is why this year the conference organizers will make an attempt to make connecting and reconnecting with other advocates the main topic. So even if the guests still may expect high-quality presentations and workshops, this year’s main focus will be networking with others.
