Rycerzyki is a Cracovian sophisti-pop quintet. After recording their debut album entitled simply Rycerzyki (2015) in their home ways, the fairytale and oneiric songs sung by Gosia Zielińska in Polish, imaginary and English have been released on playlists of national radio stations. Piotr Metz called them "one of the most interesting performers of a new wave of Polish pop". The album was met with great interest from journalists, including Gazeta Wyborcza, Polityka, Wprost, Dziennik Polski, Gazeta Magnetofonowa and Dwutygodnik.

The music of the Knights also gained the sympathy of the most important reviewers, i.e. the audience. The material from the debut album was presented during club concerts all over Poland and at festivals such as Off Festival, Poznan Spring Break or Krakow Green Zoo. The reception was so kind that the fan community helped to realize further ambitions of the band. Two years later, in a professional studio, under the supervision of Michał Kupicz, the second longplay of Rycerzyki entitled Kalarnali, this time completely dominated by the Polish language, was created. Released in February 2018 by Thin Man Records, the album received enthusiastic reviews from independent and mainstream media. The single Czerwiec became the song of the day in the Third Program of Polish Radio, and the album itself was the album of the week in several radio stations. Bartek Chaciński wrote about Kalarnali in the Polityka weekly: "The second album in the discography of Rycerzyki confirms that it is a different band than any other, full of charm and worth noticing".
