Richie Kotzen
Undoubtedly one of the greatest guitar virtuosos on the rock and hard rock scene. Born in Pennsylvania, the now 49-year-old Richie Kotzen has been blessed by nature with yet another talent, a fantastic voice. He started playing as a kid after Kiss was fascinated. He was so absorbed in perfecting his technique and compositional skills that while still a teenager, he became an artist recording for Shrapnel Records, which brings together the biggest guitar scavers.
What distinguishes Richi from other guitar virtuosos is his great versatility. The American feels great, not only playing super-fast and breakneck solos in a rock climate, but also performing blues, soul, funk or fusion repertoire. Kotzen had the opportunity to taste mainstream popularity when he was a musician of the Poison and Mr. Big, and also in Japan, where he is a big star and even opened The Rolling Stones. However, he did his best in his own projects or teams. The last one is supertrio The Winery Dogs, in which he plays with Billy Sheehan and Mike Portnoy. In turn, the discography of the American is closed by the Salting Earth album released in 2017.
