The Catalonian quartet Mourn stormed the scene in 2014 with their simply titled debut album Mourn - Edgy 90’s Indie Rock, performed with a self-confidence that was not the age of the musicians: the band members were between 15 and 18 years old. At the end of 2015, the successor Ha, Ha, He was due to appear, but due to a legal dispute with their Spanish management and tour organizer, it was not until many months later.
Now that the legal constraints have finally been overcome, Mourn returned with full force and present their third album Sorpresa Familia (Surprise Family). It has become an album full of anger and passion. Bursting with tension and restrained frustration, Sorpresa Familia fits exactly into the band’s catalog and yet it feels more cultivated with full intention. Mourn fights against greedy corporations, exploitation, false friends, dishonest authority figures and complex world politics.
