Kuba Więcek Trio

The winner of the first edition of the Blue Note Poznań Competition - Kuba Więcek will present jazz standards as well as materials from his latest album, published in the Polish Jazz - Multitasking series. The young saxophonist can be known as an unruly artist, impressed by his own overly clear-laid, mature vision of his music. He draws inspiration from many genres of music, ranging from classical music, European folklore and jazz to electronic, alternative or hip-hop music. Więcek was educated at the Copenhagen Rhythmic Music Conservatorium. He took lessons with such masters as Lee Konitz, Steve Lehman and David Binney. He has performed in almost all of Europe, North America and Asia. He collaborated with Mike Stern, Ralph Alessi, Gilad Hekselman and many others. At the age of seven, he began to study cello, which he abandoned four years later for the saxophone. Exploring the secrets of classical music, he developed his proficiency in music while shaping musical sensitivity. His album Another Raindrop was released in the prestigious Polish Jazz series, which made him the first in 28 years debutant in this release and the youngest throughout its history. Kuba Więcek - saxophone, Michał Barański - bass, Łukasz Żyta - drums.
