JP Cooper has a unique voice that will be remembered. His versatility is reflected in his career: JP Cooper gained worldwide fame through the song Perfect Strangers by DJ Jonas Blue. This Caribbean-inspired voice gave the 2016 summer hit only the light character that it needed for the chart success - and the associated platinum plates. This was followed by September Song, a separate piece in which the Briton looks back on the moment of the first teenage love, a small nostalgic memory that grows out of the voice into something big. The debut album Raised Under Gray Skies and the self-mirroring Covers EP convince with deep and poignant music that comes from a soul that has life experience and knows what loss and longing mean. Now JP Cooper is back in the studio producing his second album, still untitled. The soul-and-poppy approach is always the focus and the cool arrangements do everything to make this exceptional organ sound so wonderfully soulful, clear and open.
