Groove Meetings: P.Unity + The Herbaliser

One evening and two exceptional concerts under the motto Groove Meetings. Multipersonal gangs known for their lively concerts and cosmic combination of genres - Warsaw P.Unity and London The Herbaliser.

The Herbaliser - the founding fathers of the band are bassist Jake Wherry and producer and DJ Ollie Teeba. In their work they combine neatly hip-hop beats with tasteful jazz and funk samples, all in the atmosphere of pulsating club electronics. Their 1995 debut album "Remedies" quickly secured them an important place on the British music scene and today they are considered one of the most influential bands in the extremely creative and important turn-of-the-century British scene. At that time, the duo grew into a line-up of several live musicians, becoming not only the biggest star of the Ninja Tune label, but also a sign of its quality. The film music they created for the cult film Pkręt by Guy Ritchie is also widely known and liked. Their last album is released in 2018, the eighth studio album Bring Out The Sound. The participation of British hip-hop godfather Rodney P is not the only dynamite on the album that is so characteristic of the band's eclectic and pleasant mix of hip-hop, funk, jazz, captivating with instrumental groov. In Warsaw the band will play in a full 9-person line-up.

P.Unity - a ten-person Warsaw project set in a funky style. P.Unity's work is a tribute to George Clinton's psychedelic face and the dirty sounds of Sly & The Family Stone, it's more of an elusive mood than a purely technical genre expression. The band builds their sound also drawing on the achievements of numerous heirs of funk style - from hip-hop giants like Snoop Dogg or A Tribe Called Quest, through the neosoul scene of Soulquarians to beat and electronic innovators centered around Brainfeeder label. There is also a lot of jazz influences, on which a large part of the group grew up. After the well-received ep Mango, the first album Pulp was released in 2018 by U Know Me Records and was nominated for a Frederic. The band has performed at most important Polish festivals such as Opener, OFF, Spring Break, Up To Date or Soundrive.
