Csík Zenekar

The famous Hungarian folk ensemble has won several prestigious music awards over the thirty years of its existence, including the major Hungarian Fonogram Award (for the album Nobody Understand Nothing, 2007). The formation of János Csík was founded in 1988 and in its current line-up became one of the most popular folk music groups in Hungary. The band was founded in Kecskemét and managed to compete with the best Budapest dance bands for a long time. In 2000, the group was selected for the cultural program accompanying the Olympic Games to represent Hungarian folk culture in Sydney. Until then, it has released several successful albums and although the composition of the ensemble has changed many times over the years, many of the former members have regularly appeared on later recordings or concert performances. The event will take place at the Palác Akropolis on Thursday, October 10, 2019.
