Parkbühne Wuhlheide, located in the Volkspark Wuhlheide in the district Treptow-Köpenick, is a heritage-protected open air venue in form of an amphi theater that offers space for up to 17.000 visitors.
The eastern Berlin outdoor stage was built in 1951 for the 3rd world youth festival and in the following years a lot of events have been taking place there. Today, the stage is mainly used for concerts and music events.
As it was in a desolate condition in the beginning of the 1990s, the venue was renovated and modernized during 1996 and 1997 and re-opened as Parkbühne Wuhlheide in 1996.
2008 the stage was honored with the Live Entertainment Award in the category „location of the year“. Among the wide variety of artists that have had concerts at Parkbühne Wuhlheide are for example Die Ärzte, Black Sabbath, Mando Diao, Rammstein and Radiohead.
