Filharmonia Świętokrzyska

Oskar Kolberg Świętokrzyska Philharmonic is a philharmonic based in Kielce, currently housed in the International Cultural Centre. The history of the Philharmonic dates back to 1920, when a symphonic orchestra was founded on the basis of the Brass Band of the 4th Legionary Infantry Regiment. After the war, as many as 22 of its members became members of the Provincial Symphony Orchestra, which inaugurated its first artistic season on July 28, 1945. Choral traditions of the Kielce Philharmonic go back to 1954, when on the initiative of Karol Anbild, the second conductor of the Provincial Symphony Orchestra at that time, the 100-person "Echo" Choir was formed, which performed with the Kielce orchestra for the first time in February 1955 on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of its existence, performing a piece by Jan Maklakiewicz entitled Silesia Works and Sings.
