Christian Wolff

American composer and pianist born in Nice, France. He studied experimental composition at Harvard University. His teacher and close collaborator was John Cage. Wolff composes for various types of musical groups. These are compositions for solo instruments, mostly of a virtuoso nature, compositions for ensembles with established instrumentation and orchestral works, which he writes mainly in classical notation.
