Screening of the short movies will be part of the “International Short Film Festival Brno16” festival.

To The Stars / Štefánia Lovasová / Slovakia 2019 / 19 min. – Every star burns out eventually. Shy Ari idolizes Táňa whose Instagram is really something. A well-arranged coincidence is a great opportunity to look beyond the facade of a sparkly Instagram account into the reality of routine and effort to maintain control of one’s crumbling media image.

Greetings From Nigeria / Peter Hoferica / Slovakia 2020 / 17 min. – Nigerian prince Dimka Ali Betzhava asks for your help. In return for a humble donation, he promises half of his inheritance – 12 million Euros. His email becomes the center of attention in a Slovak village. Through fragments, this film details the microcosm of one contemporary (un)broken family.

Neptún / Tereza Dodoková / Slovakia 2019 / 4 min. – “I dreamt I was on Neptune. It wasn’t blue, I can’t remember the colors.” Narrative diving into old 8mm family archives discovers through found footage a fragment of a story on the verge of dream and reality, possibility and impossibility, the real and the unreal.

Race / Vojtěch Lukeš / Slovakia 2019 / 11 min. – The greatest wins don’t have to happen in front of an audience. The biggest rival doesn’t have to be another person. And the roughest terrain can be represented by you alone. None of this takes away from the thrill of the race, though.

Sh*t Happens / Michaela Mihályi, David Štumpf / 13 min. – An exhausted handyman, his frustrated wife and one totally depressed deer. Their mutual desperation leads to absurd events.
