Bezmatek

A painfully touching production by Marcin Liber, inspired by Mira Marcinow's Paszport Polityki-awarded book. It deals with the experience of death of a loved one, but also how the understanding of old relationships changes with time. It is all the more fascinating because the mother in this relationship is nothing like the stereotypical ideal; she treats her daughter more like a partner than a child, but an unusually strong bond is born in this incongruous arrangement. These non-obvious roles of mother and daughter are bravely played by Katarzyna Tlałka and Maja Pankiewicz.
