About Beethoven Orchestra Praha
Beethoven orchestra Praha (artistic leader Václav Návrat) is a chamber orchestra of Beethoven’s type with wind instruments, whose style of performing classical music grows out of a hot-bed of authentic interpretation of early music.
Members of the orchestra use modern wind and stringed instruments, but in a manner which tries to remain close to the classical ideal of playing: without enormous vibrato and with perfect phrasing and articulation. In the repertoire of the Beethoven orchestra Praha there are many symphonies of Beethoven, Mozart and Haydn, early romanticism orchestral pieces and unknown or forgotten compositions of old Czech masters.
In concerto compositions the Beethoven orchestra Praga often accompanies various soloists, but it also collaborates with singers and often in choral music with the ensemble Musica divina Praga. The orchestra performed a hundreds of concerts with careful dramaturgy that is close to cultural rituals of times of origin the played compositions.
