Musician, DJ, Berghain resident and co-founder of the Leisure System label, Sam Barker has been instrumental in pushing the boundaries of dance music in Berlin, looking beyond 4/4 techno to explore left-field sound design and its rhythmic complexity.
Marker's musical approach, both solo and as the duo Barker & Baumecker together with longtime Panorama Bar resident nd_baumecker, unconsciously combines bass music tropes, breakbeat, dub and ambient elements.
A classically trained musician, the British native is also an active instrument designer and builder, combining coding skills with analog, electric and acoustic instrument building under the name Voltek.
