Axiom is a universe of textile installation with music, lights, colors and a dance performance. The piece focuses on exploring people’s imagination and associations through the immersive experience.

Axiom is a textile universe installation that works like a costume for the room. The audience is inside what almost seems like a living creature’s belly, moving and breathing with the installation. The atmosphere is created by using music, lights and colors that play with the tactile surfaces of the room. The installation will stand by itself and can be explored throughout the festival, but there will also be a performance in the space with live music by Nick Hann, accompanied by a dance performance by Sang Hoon Lee.

The work focuses on exploring people’s imagination and associations through the tangible textiles. The aim of the installation is to invite the audience in to experience the slowly transforming space, where they can touch the textile and make up their own stories about it and create associations – the room wants the audience to play with their imagination. I experiment a lot with textile techniques and I often see projects like this, where you are not allowed to touch the costumes or installations, but I think it’s very interesting to see how people’s, especially kids’, imagination can create associations and develop stories by experiencing environments like this.
