About Trippie Redd
Not even 20 years old yet, Trippy Red is considered to be one of the greatest stars of the young hip-hop scene overseas. A distinctive image, a memorable voice and intimate, personal lyrics – this is what makes Trippie Redd stand out in the first place.
Michael Lamar White IV was born in June 1999 in the small town of Canton, Ohio. His career developed in Atlanta, where he moved after graduating from high school. His inspirations did not differ from his peers' standard taste – he was fascinated by Lil Wayne, he loved listening to Beyoncé or Tupac, but he did not forget about the legends of guitar playing, Nirvana and KISS. The work of Trippie Redd is a direct result of these inspirations. On his albums you can experience sadness, reflection on the essence of life, dilemmas shared by young, lost people, all based on beats on the border of cloud-rap, modern rap and pop punk.
The artist has made one official longplay – Life’s Trip from 2018. The album reached the 4th position on the Billboard album chart and enjoyed great popularity in Canada, Norway and New Zealand. The musician has also recorded several well received EPs and mixes – one of them, A Love Letter to You 3,, was ranked last on the podium of the best-selling albums in the United States. In the last few years Trippie Redd launched a few big hits, the most popular of which were Dark Knight Dummo, Taking a Walk, Love Scars and Topanga. Additionally, the musician did not shy away from collaborating with other stars, hence the songs with Travis Scott, Young Thug, 6ix9ine, Alison Wonderland and Julia Michaels. Fans of rap were also thrilled by Trippie Redd’s beef with 6ix9ine and the late XXXTentacion.
