About The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain

In the world of today is certainly not the more famous body of players on the ukulele. They sang on all continents, performed at the Royal Albert Hall or at the Opera House in Sydney, but played even at a rock festival in Glastonbury. Their boards in the rankings, jumping the tracks to accompany the TV series or movies, and they are also frequent guests of British television stations. The history of The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain dates back to the mid-1980s, when he founded the Uke Richie Williams file in order to “change the preview to the public on a ukulele.” The same activities continues to file and about thirty years later, when he performs in an mixed report.

Although The Ukulele Orchestra composed their own song, the greatest notoriety reached thanks to the distinctive lyricists with a very wide range of genre. Between the concert stars include Wuthering Heights by Kate Bush redesigned to swing, the title tune from the film The Good, The Bad and the Ugly from Ennio Morriconeho and or punk classic Anarchy in the UK performed in the style of Simon and Garfunkel. Occasionally, from pop to classical music resurfaces, but also comedic gags like when five members of the band playing together on a single tool.

The philosophy of The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain is to spread the joy of music. British newspaper the Independent called it “the most exciting musical project in the entire country” and heaped and from the famous colleagues, David Bowie and Brian Eno. – Translated by Automatic service
