The Shipyard
The group The Shipyard formed in 2011 in the centre of the Tricity, but soon afterwards began to sneak out towards further afield. They are driven by the smell of the sea and the sound of bending port steel. The group was formed on the initiative of Piotr Pawłowski, a bass player, composer and lyricist known from the cold wave band Made In Poland. Piotr moved to the Tricity in 2010, establishing contacts with local musicians - first with Filip Gałązka and then with Nela Gzowska and Rafał Jurewicz. The line-up was completed by Michał Miegoń.The Shipyard is a wall of powerful sound painted with both a dose of melancholy and dreaminess but also deconstructed with Killing Joke fury.
