Robert Cray

Robert Cray is a composer whose approach to the blues is multi-dimensional and far from formulaic. Cray adheres to the bitterness required in the genre, of course, but it is toned down with a subtle melancholy. On top of all this, there is a completely unforced element of upbeatness, allowing these not necessarily cheerful songs to become material for increased humming. The American artist also adds a dose of rock dynamics and the sound of American soul to the mix. Robert Cray has won five Grammys and, in addition to his solo activities, has amassed a number of impressive entries on his musical CV - from collaborations with B.B. King and Tina Turner to activities with Eric Clapton and Chuck Berry.
