Highly Sprung
Highly Sprung was founded in 2000, formed out of a passion to use the transformative power of physical theatre to create work that both excites and inspires children and young people. Mark and Sarah teamed up to make work that genuinely connects with its audiences and produces work that is meaningful and provides debate about real world issues.
Highly Sprung now has a strong and diverse team of excellent artists and is recognised for producing outstanding participatory projects, working with over 10,000 children and young people annually.
In 2003 Mark and Sarah established weekly workshops for children aged 4‐21. Sprungsters provides an exciting environment for nearly 100 young people to develop physical performance skills and creativity, through a variety of different opportunities.
Highly Sprung began new ventures into making work for the outdoor arts sector in 2015 and have since created two pieces, alongside a range of walkabout performances. Urban Astronaut is an award winning piece of outdoor performance supported by Without Walls, touring to festivals and arts events across the UK.
Highly Sprung is extremely proud to support the varying stages of the emerging artist and continually generates opportunities for employment for recent graduates or young people with limited professional experience. In 2016 Highly Sprung supported the professional development of four graduate artists and provided work placements for 10 young people.
