Bauhaus

Daniel Ash (guitar), David J. (bass), Kevin Haskins (drums) and Peter Murphy (vocals) are the four musicians who founded Bauhaus in 1978. The British have only released five studio albums and three live albums, but each has left its mark on rock music history. Bands such as Interpol, Einstürzende Neubauten, Pearl Jam, Ministry, Guns'N'Roses, Korn, White Zombie or Nine Inch Nails admit to their fascination and inspiration from Bauhaus achievements. The first single by Bel Lugosi's Dead (1979) made the band stand out from the then debutantes and is still perceived today as a precursor of gothic rock.

This truly flagship piece by Bauhaus had a considerable impact on many other musicians, and was repeatedly covered. Conflicts and misunderstandings that troubled the group led to its dissolution after the release of the album Burning From the Inside (1983). The musicians took up their solo careers and very rarely performed together under the Bauhaus banner. In 2008, fans were surprised by the album Go Away White, which was not promoted by any concerts. The artists informed the media that under the influence of the incident (its character has never been revealed) the Bauhaus came to a definitive end. In 2019 the quartet announced several joint concerts in the USA, Mexico and Europe.
