Family is hell. Province is hell. Joseph Kesselring's Arsen und Spitzenhäubchen deals with a family in the province. The two lovely old ladies Abby and Martha Brewster, their psychologically slightly disoriented nephew Teddy, the frustrated theater critic Mortimer, two professional killers, a late girl, a village pastor belong to the people in the story, and all of them are somehow related to each other. Essentially, the plot of this classic black humor is that a lot of people try to maneuver a lot of corpses through a house without letting each other know.
