About Angela Gheorghiu
Angela Gheorghiu is a Romanian soprano, which reviews headlines proclaiming “A Star Is Born” then in 1994 first appeared as Violetta in Verdi’s Covent Garden. But then a huge plaudits two years before on the same stage preceded her Mimi in Puccini’s La Boheme, international debut with an unexpected response that Gheorghiu recorded in the same role in the New York Metropolitan and Vienna State Opera.
Angela Gheorghiu is signed under a number of highly acclaimed recordings released on CD and DVD, twice awarded the title of singer (Classical Brit Awards 2001 and 2010). She received the title Knight of the French Order of Arts and Letters, last fall, her former Romanian King Michael I awarded honors Nihil Sine Deo Merit for promotion.
